The Mand Small Hydro Power Project is an 8 MW run-of-the-river hydroelectric facility located in Damas Village, Dharmajaygarh Taluk, Raigarh District, Chhattisgarh. Harnessing the flow of the Mand River—a tributary of the Mahanadi—the project utilizes an ungated weir to divert water through turbines, generating renewable energy with minimal environmental impact. This design avoids the need for large reservoirs, preventing significant inundation or displacement. Backed by the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Agency (CREDA), the project has secured necessary clearances, including forest approvals and departmental NOCs. With a strong internal rate of return (IRR) and favorable debt service coverage ratio (DSCR), the Mand Small Hydro Power Project is a significant contributor to sustainable energy in the region, exemplifying industry best practices in hydroelectric power generation.
The 7 MW Jatashankari Hydropower Project, implemented by JHPPL, is a small-scale, run-of-the-river hydroelectric power project located on the Jatashankari River in Korba district, Chhattisgarh, India. This project involves the installation of two Horizontal Francis Turbines, each with a capacity of 3.5 MW, to harness the river’s hydro potential for electricity generation. The generated power is supplied to the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL) under a Power Purchase Agreement. The project is designed to produce approximately 27.89 GWh of clean, renewable energy annually, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by displacing fossil fuel-based electricity in the regional grid.
